CREATE: Black Out Poetry

Instructions:
Watch the video and advance through the slideshow above. 

Materials Needed:

Pages from old books, newspapers, magazines, etc.
Sharpies or other markers (and/or colored pencils)

What is it?
Poems “written” by marking out all of the unwanted words on a page. These poems often form a picture as well. 



Share your Black Out Poem
  • Record and share yourself reading your poem on our Flipgrid (click the button link above). 
    • Make sure in your video you hold up your Black Out Poetry creation so your image can be clearly seen in your video.   
  • THEN - Reply to someone else’s posted poem and answer these questions about their posted poem.
