“Never trust anyone who has not brought a book with them.”― Lemony Snicket
Be a Volunteer Reader
Help us curate the Tome Society Book Award lists by being a "first reader" volunteer. Follow the steps below to get started:
- Familiarize yourself with the Volunteer Reader Review Form, so you know what to look for as you read.
- Choose a book from our "Consideration List." This list is made up of "un-vetted" titles we are considering for the upcoming lists. Many of these books will NOT make the list because they do not meet the Tome Book Award guidelines.
- Get a copy of the book you signed up for. You can buy it in print or eBook, listen to an audiobook, or check it out from the library.
- Read the book! Note page numbers of profanity and mature content based on the Reader Review Form.
- Fill out the Volunteer Reader Review Form (even if you didn't finish the book).
- Repeat steps 2-5 as many times as you like!
