Tome offers students a diverse menu of competitions, not limited to just Reading Bowl. All Tome Society, Jr Tome, and Club Tome chapter members are invited to participate in as many Tome competitions as they wish. Most competitions are submitted digitally and are completed by individual students, but a few are available as in-person, team, or chapter events. All winners are announced at TomeCon*. See below for the competition menu. Click each competition title for a printable copy of directions, rubric, and adapted lesson plan for use in your school.
*Please note: submitted competitions must meet a minimum standard in order to be awarded 1st -3rd place at TomeCon. If less than 3 entries are submitted in a chapter level and none of the submissions meet the minimum standard for the event, no awards will be given in that category.
Please Note: All Tome Society Competition documents are property of Tome Student Literacy Society and may not be reproduced for competition use outside of Tome Society events; however, chapter advisers may share competition lesson plans and rubrics with other teachers in their school for classroom use.
Each semester, on or before the submission deadline, chapter advisers should complete the semester competition submission form and submit each entry through the Canvas Adviser Group*.
Paid Chapter Advisers will recieve and email inviting them to join the group. *If your school system uses Canvas as a system LMS, you will need to create a Free for Teachers account at canvas.instructure.com using a different email address.
