Authors are rockstars at tomecon.
TomeCon is an all-day, concurrent-session style conference for students in grades 2-12. We invite authors each year whose books are on our annual book award list, The It List, as well as local Georgia authors, to lead sessions for our students and participate in a meet-and-greet book signing with attendees.
What is a typical author's schedule at TomeCon?
Authors typically present 3-4 45-minute sessions for students on a topic of their choosing. Some topics that other authors have done in the past are: writing great characters, world-building, how to connect ideas into a story, how to write a good villain, inspirational stories behind their books, and more.
Authors also typically participate in a 45-minute, multi-author Q&A panel with questions from our students, as well as 1-2 book signing sessions with the students.
